About Mitchell Auping

  • Proud lifelong Wisconsinite and Shorewood resident since 2021

  • Graduate of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

  • Member of the Shorewood Community Development Authority

  • Loves the strong community ties bolstered by our frequent block parties and being able to walk to the bakery

  • Wants to help continue to build a community that is welcoming and accessible to all

Policy

  • Adopt a policy similar to Milwaukee's Community Led Traffic Calming Program

  • Facilitate the building of more affordable housing in the village. Including legalizing Accessory Dwelling Units(ADUs) and ensuring those that want to build affordable housing in the village are afforded a fair opportunity

  • Build a coalition of municipal and county governments to lobby the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services to make common sense adjustments to our building code. For example stairwells and elevators

  • Ensure that the village takes every opportunity to improve the experience of those walking, biking, and taking transit in the village. For example exploring municipal sidewalk snow removal and work to legalize the Idaho stop

  • Adopt an action plan on how to protect our neighbors in the event masked federal agents terrorize our community
